Proof of purchase

When a piece of content is purchased via Spondo, the Spondo system processes your payment on behalf of the Content Owner. It is important to note that Spondo is obliged to remit your email address to the Content Owner as proof of purchase. If you are concerned about your email address being supplied to the Content Owner, you should contact the Content Owner directly for a copy of their Privacy Policy before making your purchase.

The kind of information we hold

Some examples of personal information that may be held by Spondo include your name, email address, country of residence (for tax purposes), business name, contact details, billing details, PayPal account, Subscription details and service notes related to your account (such as support requests, billing enquiries and general comments).

How we collect this information

When you register to use the Services you will provide us with most of this information. Service notes related to your account will be made whenever we have contact with you.

We’re serious about maintaining your privacy

Only authorized employees within Spondo, on a need-to-know basis, use any information collected via the Website. We constantly review our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to our clients. Parliament has created specific offences for unauthorised actions against computer systems and data. We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible.

Client records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party, other than providing proof of purchase to a Content Owner or if legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities. Clients have the right to request sight of, and copies of any and all Client Records we keep, on the proviso that we are given reasonable notice of such a request. Clients are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of the Services. Where appropriate, we shall issue Clients with appropriate written information, handouts or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties. We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party, other than providing proof of purchase to a Content Owner, or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by Spondo will only be in connection with the provision of agreed Services and products. No, not baked goods – we’re talking about the digital kind; In order to benefit from the full functionality offered by the Services it is occasionally necessary to place a small amount of information (a cookie) on the user’s computer. Cookies are used to store the user’s viewing options for displaying thumbnail images and text, and to enable us to retrieve user details for each visit. Cookies are used in some areas of the Website to enable functionality and ease of use when the user changes their options. Log, as in record; The Spondo Services use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track users’ movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Additionally, for systems administration, detecting usage patterns and troubleshooting purposes, our web servers automatically log standard access information including browser type, access times/open mail, URL requested, and referral URL. This information is not shared with third parties and is used only within Spondo on a need-to-know basis. Any individually identifiable information related to this data will never be used in any way different to that stated above without your explicit permission.
